I tell my clients up front, "This isn't forever. My goal is to help you get to a level where you can participate in group training". Part of the reason is to help them reconcile the cost aspect. One-on-one training is by definition expensive. But the larger reason is because of the huge benefit of training with others. There is no better ice-breaker than suffering through a workout together. Once the last barbell drops, conversation just flows. It's similar to the dynamic at a neighborhood bar, which is no doubt where they got the idea for this clever commercial...
In a group, there will be people above your level to whom you can aspire... and people below your level to whom you can provide encouragement. There is a sense of accountability - "Hey, where were you yesterday? We missed you". Training with others improves your performance, and makes it more fun. So go ahead. Find your tribe of fellow misfits.
